Interact
Internationalization of
education is now an accepted fact for contemporary societies of the world. Interact
IIP having socio-cultural,
political, economic objectives can be defined as the process of integrating an
international/intercultural dimension into the teaching, research and service
functions of
IIP
has the following objectives, such as :
· Internationalization of education with travelling scholars (people) looking for knowledge and understanding of other
cultures.
· Internationalization
includes academic mobility, global or multicultural education, area studies
abroad.
· Create conditions favourable for outwardly mobile students (people) and
faculty, who wish to a part of their studies in other
country.
· To create conditions that enable foreign students
to gain access to our study programmes.
· To cooperate with foreign
partners in developing relevant curricula and educational
methods.
· To encourage international
students and inflow of Non-Resident Indians (NRI) to study in University from
both developed and developing
countries.
· To establish international
linkage for promoting goodwill for
· To
provide an insight into cultural environment and Indian
life-style.
·The nature, scope and rationales for internationalization of
higher education have changed radically through the recent years. The dominant
rationale in the European Medieval universities and the Indian and Arab
universities earlier was social and academic : The wandering scholars were
looking for knowledge acquired understanding of other countries, culture,
tradition, values and other.
· The academic/educational
rationale are best seen in terms of the benefits that IIP (or
internationalization of education) can bring to the core university activities
of learning and research and to help understand each
other.
· IIP will benefit the
community as well the daily life of international visitors/students in local
community can have a positive impact on the community’s understanding of foreign culture and at the same
time for the foreign students to understand and learn about Indian society and
culture.
· The presence of foreign students positively influences the nature and scope of university campus, this may also help in understanding cultural interactions etc. An indirect and intangible benefit to our university will be the attachment that overseas students develop for their alma mater and their sympathetic attitude to the service of the host university.
· Millions of the students
are studying outside their home countries and the trend has increased several
fold, because of the demand of
skilled manpower in developed world and the free movement of educated talent
from the developing world. But IIP actually would help to create a harmony of
understanding each other through open mindness and
flexibility of thanking and action,
mild or collaborative attitude towards other systems and culture, attitude
towards own value system and culture, respect for others (relating to the
importance of respecting cultural conventions of other
etc.).
