The Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Physics and Electronics is established in the year 1970 under the headship of the renowned academician (Late) Prof. T.S. Murty. During these years the department has grown to the present status having more than 200 students studying in various courses run by the department and a number of faculty members specialized in different areas. The department has moderately well equipped workshop, departmental library and computer and network facilities

                            Functions of USIC

                            (i) The University Science Instrumentation Centre (U.S.I.C.) was started at level-1 at University in 1994 with the initial support of University Grants

                                Commission.

                            (ii) The main objectives and functions of USIC are as follows :-

                a.  The USIC acts as an agency of University in the matters of repairs and maintenance of instruments and teaching aids.

                b.   It executes work orders/jobs submitted by the University departments and colleges with the help of facilities available.

                c.    It conducts short term courses in repairs and maintenance of Instruments for upgrading the knowledge of college teachers.
